The University of San Francisco Athletics Department has
ushered in a new era, unveiling an up-to-date look for the Dons.
A new primary logo, proudly proclaiming “San Francisco Dons,”
now anchors USF Athletics’ uniforms and includes updated lettering and a slightly
adjusted color pallet. Athletes on the field and supporters on campus are
already sporting the logo, last revamped a decade ago.
In addition to the new primary logo, an alternative “USF”
logo—with the “S” and “F” stacked inside the “U”—appears on the chest of some
Dons uniforms. The refreshed look coincides with the unveiling of the Athletics
Department’s new tagline, “Aim Higher,” and a redesigned website—which currently
offers a visual history of the Dons logo and USF athletic achievements.
“This new athletics logo is a bold and modern look,” said Athletics
Director Scott Sidwell. “It more effectively ties USF Athletics to this amazing
city and better represents the Dons to our recruits and many fans across the
country. We are so proud of our history, our athletic teams, our
student-athletes, and the greatness that awaits us moving forward.”
As home to San Francisco’s first and only Division I athletics
program, USF has a long history of athletic achievement that includes 12
national championships, 97 All-American-named athletes, 22 Olympians, and 93
professional athletes.
