Department Chair / Professor
Nicholas Imparato, Department Chair and Professor of Marketing, is a highly respected international educator and researcher whose work frequently takes him to Europe, Asia, Africa and the Middle East. He is a former a research fellow at the Hoover Institution, Stanford University, and he served as a senior executive and board member of publicly listed and closely held firms here and abroad.
Professor Imparato has been an advisor and speaker on innovation, public policy and leadership, with an emphasis on the effects of disruptive change driven by globalization and technology, in over 30 countries with Visa, IBM and other organizations.
Dr. Imparato is one of only two faculty members in the history of the School of Management to have earned awards from all USF audiences. He has won the prestigious university-wide Distinguished Teacher Award, the School of Management’s Outstanding Teacher award, the executive education level Excellence in Teaching Award, and a variety of student awards, including the MBA Student Association Gold Circle award for Teaching.
As a member of the Knights of Malta, the historic lay religious and chivalric order founded in 1048, Professor Imparato participates in its mission to aid the poor, sick and disadvantaged in communities around the world.
During Spring 2014 Professor Imparato will be on sabbatical conducting research on service science in New York and foreign direct investment in emerging economies in Istanbul.
