Mauricio Ferreira

Dr. Ferriera is the head of the marketing research and
analytics at the Hypothesis Group, a Los Angeles-based research and
marketing consultancy. He specializes in consumer choice,
positioning, market segmentation, pricing, and promotion response.
Before joining Hypothesis, He was the Director of Market Research
and Analytics for the DRSI Group and the Chief Methodologist at IMS
Health Global Consulting - one of the largest international market
research consulting companies. He has also held faculty positions
at Texas A&M University and Ohio University, where he has
taught graduate and undergraduate courses in sport marketing, sport
finance, and research methods. For the past 10 years, he has led
projects for a wide range of companies in the entertainment, sport,
and health industries. His clients have ranged from large companies
such as Disney, Mattel, Microsoft,and Johnson & Johnson to more
local organizations such as convention and visitors bureaus and
local sport organizations. Fluent in three languages, Dr. Ferreira
received his Ph.D. in Sport Management from The Ohio State
University, with an emphasis in Research Methods and Marketing from
the Fisher Business School. He has authored research articles
published in the Journal of Sport Management, Sport Marketing
Quarterly, Sport Management Review, Group Dynamics, International
Journal of Sport Marketing & Sponsorship, and the Sport
Management Education Journal. In 2004, he has received the
outstanding research article award from the Sport Marketing
Association.
