Bernard von Bothmer

Adjunct Professor

Bernard von Bothmer received a B.A. (1989) with honors from Brown University, an M.A. (1993) from Stanford University, and a Ph.D. (2006) from Indiana University. His teaching and research interests include: U.S. political history; the Civil War and Reconstruction; the Progressive era through World War Two; the U.S. during and since the 1960s; and issues related to historical memory. He is the author of Framing the Sixties: The Use and Abuse of a Decade from Ronald Reagan to George W. Bush (University of Massachusetts Press, 2010). Professor von Bothmer, who also teaches history at Dominican University of California, has taught at USF since 2005. He received USF's 2010 Distinguished Lecturer Award for Excellence in Teaching.
