Yashica J. Crawford, Ph.D.
Adjunct Faculty
Dr. Yashica Crawford is Director of ExCEL After School
Programs with the San Francisco Unified School District. In this
role, she manages a team of educators that provide technical
assistance and oversight to grant-funded programs in 95 elementary,
middle, and high schools. Dr. Crawford received her
bachelor's degrees (magna cum laude) in psychology and
political science from Howard University. She went on to complete
her Master's and Ph.D. in Educational Psychology from the
University of Florida. Dr. Crawford's research interests
include social context in education, including self-construal,
level of voice, self-esteem, and motivation of students placed at
risk for academic failure. This is Dr. Crawford's 3rd year
teaching in the Counseling Psychology department.
