Hana Mori Böttger
Assistant Professor
Hana Mori
Böttger joined the Architecture and Community Design program in
2005. She teaches physics, design, structural analysis and
construction materials courses for architecture students. She has
designed and developed the Architectural Engineering Minor program,
open to all majors. She completed a Master of Architecture (2002)
and a Master of Science in Structural Engineering, Mechanics and
Materials (2000) at the University of California, Berkeley.
Hana's research interests involve low-cost engineering
techniques. She studies the use of inexpensive fabric between
courses of adobe bricks, allowing much higher energy dissipation
and inherent warning mechanisms by adobe walls during seismic
activity.
