Alex created the position of career counselor at the Gellert Family Business center in the year 2002. He designed and implemented career strategy sessions for students enrolled in the class, Family Businesses of San Francisco. As a teenager, he had his first job at Lombardi’s Sports, one of San Francisco’s oldest family run businesses.

Formerly a sales analyst in the private client departments of Montgomery Securities and Robertson Stephens, Alex has developed a career counseling practice that specializes in helping professionals who are happy in their current job situations learn how to achieve better work-life balance by offering creative solutions to time management. Also, Alex helps those unhappy with their current jobs figure out how to break the “golden handcuffs” and do something more meaningful to them. He works out of the Bay Area Career Center in downtown San Francisco.

Alex holds an M.A. in Career Development from John F. Kennedy University and a B.A. in Communication from the University of Michigan at Ann Arbor. He currently serves on the boards of the California Career Development Association and the Lick Wilmerding Alumni Association. He presents both locally and nationally at business and career development events and was a featured presenter at the 2003 National Career Development Association conference in Denver.
