KLEIN
AND COMPANY |
| |
|
| |
Founded in June
of 1953, Klein and Company is a unique and wonderfully run family
business. The company was founded by Richard Klein's mother and was
later run by Richard himself. Having kept its location in the same
Clement Street neighborhood, Klein and Company is and always has been
a company that combines the services of real estate and insurance.
Within its first year of business, the company employed 3-4 people.
In line with the unique quality of the business, Klein and Company
now employs fewer people than that. The reason for this lies within
the mantra that Richard follows. He believes in quality over quantity.
Once Richard decided to have a family, the business shifted. In the
midst of his personal changes, San Francisco was going through some
major changes of its own. As the city grew, so did the pace at which
most businesses worked. When the rent ordinance laws started, many
people were discouraged from building in the city. Lawyers became
an integral part of the business, along with technological advances.
Many real estate firms changed their ways of thinking in order to
fit into these newly decreed laws and changes. Klein and Company,
however, remained strong in the knowledge that a word of mouth client
base and customers who were anxious for a respite from the fast pace
would come to them. And they did. Richard Klein claims that a fair
amount of luck and the positive networks that the business has established
have helped them remain a gem of real estate companies in the city.
Klein and Company offers the same services they did when their doors
opened in 1953. This includes the same amount of personal service
and the same amount of knowledge which has held them in such good
stead.
This is one company that has virtually no direct competitors. The
reason--they are unique in every way that they do business. They are
still going strong after 49 years of business and if you speak with
Richard Klein, you will quickly understand why. It is old fashioned
grit and sticking by what you know and what works. It is also standing
by your values and maintaining close and meaningful relationships
with clients: a combination of qualities that is truly amazing these
days, and truly hard to find.
We are extremely proud to be associated with the Klein family and
such a fine establishment. We thank them for sharing this story with
us. |
