Install VMware Fusion

Step 1
Insert the VMware disk or download the latest version from the VMware website
Double click to launch the installer

Click Continue when prompted

Click Agree
Click Continue

Click Install

Step 5
Enter your Username and Password
Click OK

Enter VMware Serial number
Click Continue

Install available updates
You will be prompted to update the first time you start VMware Fusion. (Please make sure you are connected to the Internet.)
Click Open to accept warning about downloaded application

|
| Virtualization software typically requires a virtual hard drive be created for installation of a 'guest' OS. ITS recommends a minimum of 15 Gigabytes, to allow for OS updates, additional software and files. |
Step 8
Start VMware Fusion
Insert the Windows 7 CD
Click Continue

Step 9
Select Use Easy Install
Enter your desired Administrator name in the 'Display Name' field
Enter a Password and confirm
Enter the Windows Product Key
Click Continue

Select None from 'Sharing options'
Click Continue
|

Select Always open this virtual machine when VMware starts
Do not select this option if you are running more than one virtual machine
Click Finish

Click Save when prompted
|

Click OK to move past the 3D Acceleration warning
|

Step 14
Allow Windows 7 to install
This can take up to an hour. Please allow VMware to run uninterrupted

Windows 7 Setup

Step 15
Log in to Windows with the Administrator name and password you created in Step 9.

Press Ctrl+Alt+Del if prompted |

Run Microsoft Update
|
Click the shortcut in 'Start->All Programs' or browse to update.microsoft.com |

Allow the Windows Update Active X runtime to install

Choose Custom Install from the Windows Update options
Search for updates

Do not select Windows Live Essentials, or Windows Powershell |

Install all other updates

This can take over an hour. Please allow the installation to complete uninterrupted. |

Restart the virtual machine when prompted

Microsoft Office 2010 Installation
|
Step 21
Insert the Office 2010 disc
Enter the Product Key when prompted
Click Continue

Click Check Box to accept license terms
Click Continue

Select Customize
Click on the dropdown next to 'Microsoft Office' and select Run all from My Computer

Allow Office to Install
This may take up to an hour. Please allow the installation to complete uninterrupted.

Run Microsoft Office Update
Browse to office.microsoft.com
Install Microsoft Office 2010 Service Pack 1 and all other updates
This can take up to an hour. Please allow the installation to complete uninterrupted.
Restart the virtual machine if prompted.
