Adjunct Professor Jessica Morreale Therkelsen specializes in public international law, international human rights and international refugee law. In her current position at Asylum Access—an international refugee rights nonprofit—she develops and implements international human rights strategies to argue for the rights of refugees at the federal and U.N. level. She received her JD and Honors Certificate of International Law from the University of San Francisco School of Law, where she served on the
USF Law Review
, as president of the International Law Society, and as co-chair of the Advanced Advocacy Board. She competed on the Jessup moot court team for two years, winning first place brief, second place team overall, and eighth place oral advocate in the Pacific Region. Therkelsen is the author of “DRCAFTA: The Siren Song for Improved Labor Standards in the Dominican Republic,” 44
USF Law Review
707 (2010). She continues coaching USF’s Jessup team, and has judged the Jessup Cup in Washington, D.C.
