Important Financial Aid Deadlines

Students should familiarize themselves with the important dates below.

Summer 2013 Disbursement Begins for Regular Summer/Externship and Phnom Penh Externship

2013-2014 LAW Graduate PLUS Application 

For students accepting the Graduate PLUS loan, the Law School’s Financial Aid Office will begin accepting the application on June 1, 2013. If you are considering borrowing through a private lender, we encourage you to begin applying for a private education loan for the upcoming 2013-2014 school year.

June 1

New Loan Borrowers for 2013-2014 Academic Year

If you accept the offered Direct Unsubsidized and submit the Graduate PLUS application, you must do two additional tasks for your loans to disburse.

  1. Sign a Master Promissory Note for the federal Direct Unsubsidized Loan
  2. Complete the Online Entrance Counseling 

June 3

Summer 2013 disbursement Begins for Dublin and Dublin/Prague Programs

June 10

Summer 2013 disbursement Begins for Beijing, Shanghai, and Philippines Externships

July 1

Summer 2013 disbursement Begins for Prague Program

July 15

2013-2014 Priority Filing Date 

If you accepted the offered federal Direct Loans, you must complete ALL disbursement requirements associated with the Federal Direct Unsubsidized and Graduate PLUS loans (e.g., MPN, Online Entrance Counseling, Law Graduate PLUS Application). The priority filing date is not a deadline, so still complete the required items even if the date has passed.

July 15

2013-2013 Priority Refund Authorization Date

Financial Aid disbursement will begin in early August. If you intend to have your disbursement directly deposited, it is necessary that you complete the Online Refund Authorization Form. It is important to note that if you do not complete the direct deposit process by the priority date, your disbursement may be mailed to your mailing address as USF does not allow students to receive disbursement checks in person.

July 15

2013-2014 Priority LAW Graduate PLUS Date

Submit your LAW Graduate PLUS Loan application before the priority deadline to process your request. Students who complete the application by this date have a greater chance to have aid ready for fall disbursement. Please note the priority date is not a deadline, so still complete and submit the application even if the date has passed.

August 1

Fall 2013 Tuition Payment Deadline

August 12

Fall 2013 Disbursement Begins

The One-Stop Office begins the process of disbursement on August 12, 2013 and will continue processing disbursements to tuition charges before a refund is issued. If a refund is due to you, please allow 2-7 business days after funds disburse. Direct deposit will begin no earlier than August 15, 2013*. If you did not set up direct deposit in time, a refund will be sent to your local address. Refund checks are usually received 10-15 business days after funds are disbursed.
