The University of San Francisco: School of Nursing

Project Learn Belize

Project Learn Belize is a two-week service program for current undergraduate and graduate students and faculty in the School of Nursing and Health Professions at the University of San Francisco. Participants in the program serve students of Sacred Heart Primary School in Dangriga, Belize, by teaching concepts of healthy nutrition, first aid care, and hygiene in the classroom.

Dangriga is located on the Caribbean coast where it is the largest town (9,096 residents) in Southern Belize. Dangriga is also known as the cultural capital of Belize, as it is bustling with local artisans, museums and monuments, and traditions that intersect Central American, Amerindian, and West African cultures.
