The University of San Francisco: School of Nursing

Colombia Immersion Program

A two-week long immersion trip to Colombia is for Nursing and Health Professions students to participate in medical Spanish and cultural immersion.

This immersion trip includes morning medical Spanish instruction, and afternoons to interact with patients and health care providers in rotations at clinics, hospitals, community health centers, and schools. Students learn about local health conditions and customs while improving communication skills in Spanish.

Students stay on campus at Pontifica Universidad Javeriana Cali, a fellow Jesuit University. The university has one of the most admired architectural designs in the region and is location in the rural area in south of the city, surrounded by a rich diversity of flora and fauna, typical of the Andean mountain range of Western Colombia.

If you have any questions or are interested in this study immersion trip, please contact Dr. Meera Nosek, mnosek@usfca.edu for more information about this program.
