Help us track flu symptoms by taking part of USF's Flu Near You initiative!
Flu Near You maps and monitors influenza-like illnesses (ILI) across the nation as close to real time as possible. The flu activity shown on the map is based on the self-reported symptoms from our anonymous users.
We need to protect our USF community from the flu.
The purpose of starting Flu Near You on USF campus is to protect and prevent influenza outbreaks among our community. After a basic registration, you will be able to track flu activity around your environment year-around. To make a difference, your contributions of reporting your flu-like symptoms or no symptoms makes a great impact in our community. A short, 5-second checklist will be sent to you on Mondays. Flu Near You will remind you to report your symptoms weekly through a notification via email and/or mobile app. Based on the self-reported symptoms collected, the USF community will identify hot spots of influenza and we can take precautionary measures against the flu. With your active participation, we will reduce our chances of becoming ill and hospitalized.
Flu Near You was created through a partnership between HealthMap (healthmap.org) at Boston Children's Hospital, the American Public Health Association (APHA, apha.org) and the Skoll Global Threats Fund (skollglobalthreats.org). Flu Near You has a strict private policy and all users will remain anonymous online.
Let's be the first to change the world from here!
