There are 24 computers available for Classroom
instruction for all MCL and ESL Faculty and Students. Faculty can make
requests to use this resource for their classroom instruction. The
available hours of instruction are:
Monday – Friday from 8:00 A.M. – 7:00 P.M.
To access or make a reservation for the G25 Classroom , contact us at Leem@usfca.edu. Once you review the dates that
you need, make your request by using the following filling in the
Calendar. *New Policies for reservations will be available as a
PDF
or word which will be ready by January 2013. The policies are reviewed by a MCL and ESL every year to improve our services to meet our
Faculty, Students, and Tutor’s needs.
Please note: The classroom is available for Instructional
use only, the computer classroom resource is not a lab - Faculty must
be present in order to use the room with Students.
Faculty:
At the request of Faculty, software is installed once correct
licensing is obtained at the beginning of every semester. Audacity,
Skype, Robo Sensei, Insight, and Deep Freeze are installed on all of
these computers. In order to maximize the use of these applications,
two workshops have been organized at the beginning of each semester.
It is recommended that Faculty attend these workshops prior to using
the software. Additional training is available through CIT. Please
contact them directly to request Faculty training with John Bansavich
(bansavich@usfca.edu) and Ken Yoshioka (yoshioka@usfca.edu) and for scheduling of the CIT Mac/PC Lab with Eileen Lai (laie@usfca.edu).
Access to G25 Classroom in Cowell Hall G25
Faculty are required to use their USF ID cards to gain access to the
room. An individual alarm code is assigned to each Faculty Member in
order to access the Classroom. It is the Faculty’s responsibility to
arm and un-arm the security system in order to secure the Classroom and
Computer Assets. For more information about this, please contact Leem@usfca.edu for additional procedures and training/orientation.
Classroom Technology Mac Laptop
A Macintosh Laptop with Mac OS X & Windows XP
and a DVD, VHS player and projector is provided by Classroom Technology
at the podium. To access this resource, all Faculty must obtain a key
by contacting ITS at 422-6668. Please ensure you test your key along
with the alarm code/swipe access.
Hours of operation
The Classroom is open all year round and is available based on a reservation system. Please review the new policy as it is updated every year by a committee based on feedback from Faculty.
