Students enrolled in the SII are
invited to live in an SII-specific wing in Phelan Hall. Many SII students (especially freshmen and sophomores) take
advantage of this opportunity, which allows students to build a strong
community and to live with peers with whom they are taking classes. Midnight discussions about Sophocles and
Aristotle are not uncommon in the SII Residential Learning Community, nor are
impromptu trips out into the City. Living in the larger Phelan Residence Hall and taking courses outside of
the SII still allow SII students to have wider social circles; however, many SII
students find living with like-minded students focused on academic rigor to be
as much a valued part of their university experience as enjoying the City.
