scoop.it

scoop.it can be used by faculty and students to create a topic that showcases a curated feed of content about the personal expertise/research area. A “personal blog on steroids”, the topic can be the place where you monitor updates in your area of expertise, select which updates to scoop and provide your insights on (or create new content items), and share them with you wider network on Twitter, LinkedIn, Facebook, etc.
Example: http://www.scoop.it/t/schools-families-and-community-resources

For faculty who use a lot of online sources in your class, you can use a scoop.it topic to list those links with your own descriptions, providing instructions or insights that can help students along in their learning process.
