We’re excited to introduce our featured speakers for the upcoming event: Nahid Boustani and Maria Laws.

Nahid Boustani, a data scientist and transformational leader who sees through the double lenses of being anthropocentric and data savvy. Nahid holds a Master’s degree in Systems Engineering from George Mason University in Virginia, and a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science. With over 10 years of experience in the data industry, she has found herself passionate about leading by harnessing the highest potential of individuals through holding the space for unleashing their impact.

For the past five years, Nahid has dedicated herself to exploring the intersection of technology and humanity, particularly in the context of climate impact. Her philosophy centers on using data as a tool to enhance lives and protect our environment. She believes in driving change through collaboration, the merging of diverse skills, and the thoughtful integration of technology.

Maria Laws is an award-winning educator and Vice President of Learning & Development at Ahura AI, where she drives AI-centered learning innovations to expand access to learner-centered education and training for the global workforce. A former UC Berkeley faculty member, Maria has extensive experience across K12, higher education, and adult learning, collaborating on science and education research as well as special projects with institutions like Stanford University, UC Berkeley, Lockheed Martin, and Genentech. She plays a pivotal role in the Seeds of Change research project at Stanford University's Women's Leadership Innovation Lab and spearheads strategy and support for A4AI, a nonprofit dedicated to developing the next generation of Black AI leaders. Maria is also the author of AI Empowered: A Practical Guide for Teachers, Learners, and Parents in the Age of AI.
