The U.S. Palestinian Rights Movement: A History from the Grassroots to Washington

The Politics Department and the Program on Middle Eastern Studies is honored to present a discussion, hosted by USF Politics professor and Director of Middle Eastern Studies Stephen Zunes, with James Zogby, Zooming in from Washington, DC.
Dr. Zogby is co-founder and president of the Arab American Institute, which serves as the political and policy research arm of the Arab American community. For decades, from his roots as a grassroots organizer in the 1970s to his leadership roles in the Democratic National Committee and prominent roles in several presidential campaigns, he has pushed for a U.S. foreign policy towards Israel/Palestine more consistent with human rights and international law. He and Professor Zunes will discuss the history of the pro-Palestininian struggle in the United States over the past 50 years and its prospects for the future.
