Michael Lelivelt

Dr. Lelivelt earned a Bachelor’s degree in both Mathematics and Biology from Augustana College in Rock Island, IL and a PhD from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Dr. Lelivelt continued his research as a postdoc at the University of Wisconsin – Madison.

Dr Lelivelt began his 25+ year career in technical support, sales, and marketing for Affymetrix commercializing microarray-based genomics. He was a founding members of the Ion Torrent commercialization team who brought a novel next-generation sequencing system to market. He managed a diagnostic product portfolio at Genomic Health as VP of Product Lifecycle Marketing. Mike also raised over $12M in venture capital for Apton Biosystems for their Series A.

Mike lives in the Bay Area with his wife and small dog, Frieda. His three children are all currently enrolled in colleges across California. He teaches Group Fitness classes at various YMCAs in San Francisco.
