by Mahelet Aklilu, Office of Development Communications

CelebrateUSF is USF’s biggest weekend for alumni, families, and friends. This year 2,500 alumni, families, students, friends, and faculty attended a total of 24 events over four days.

Taryn Moore '06 MA '08, interim assistant vice president, external relations and engagement, said,

“CelebrateUSF has always been about bringing our USF community together, and this year’s turnout truly reflects the spirit of connection that defines our university.

This year had a record number of registrants. With the support of over 100 dedicated volunteers, we created memorable experiences across 24 events. We love having our alumni and families back on the Hilltop to reconnect, and this year was particularly special.”

The festival weekend may be over but here are seven unforgettable moments that will stay with us forever:

  • 1 award-winning actress, Viola Davis, took to the stage at the Silk Speaker Series
  • 500 alumni came together to celebrate at 10 alumni reunions
  • 4 members of the Lucky Devils Band kicked off the food and music festival
  • 6 brand new events hosted families and alumni, including a roller skating party and a women’s speed networking night
  • 34 gallons of ice cream from Hometown Creamery satisfied sweet cravings
  • 900 CelebrateUSF roll-up blankets created cozy Dons
  • 8 Alumni Award recipients demonstrated USF values in action

Didn’t make it to CelebrateUSF? Don’t worry. There are more upcoming alumni events to attend this year.
