This year marks the tenth anniversary of Day of the Dons. The one-day event brings the University of San Francisco community together every year to give in support of their school.
Day of the Dons is the university’s day-long fundraising event. Alumni, students, parents, faculty, staff, and friends of USF are encouraged to give to a program, school, or scholarship of their choice as an investment into their university.
Here are ten triumphs that we’ve achieved in the past ten years of Day of the Dons:
- Number of years that Day of the Dons has supported USF students: 10
- Original number of donors who supported Day of the Dons when the program launched in 2015: 1,250
- Number of animals in the Day of the Dons petting zoo at Gleeson Plaza: 20
- Average percent of Day of the Dons donors who are USF students: 6
- Number of Bob’s Donuts eaten on Day of the Dons in 2024: 300
- Year Day of the Dons experienced hurricane-force winds and blackouts: 2023
- Number of donors who still supported USF that year: 2,364
- Hours in the day to give on Day of the Dons: 24
- Dollars raised for our biggest Day of the Dons yet in 2022: 1.86 million
- This year’s date for Day of the Dons: 3-27-25
Day of the Dons offers a powerful opportunity to invest in the future of the USF community. Each gift, no matter the size, is an investment in the potential of our students, helping them overcome barriers and seize new opportunities.
