Gleeson Library Associates 50th Anniversary Book Arts Exhibition with Terry Braunstein and Pia Pizzo

To celebrate the GLA’s 50th anniversary, the Thacher Gallery will exhibit artist books from the Donohue Rare Book Room’s collection in our side galleries.

About the artists

Terry Braunstein’s collage and photomontage work has taken the form of artists’ books, sculpture, public art, video, photography and installation. Since 1973, she has produced more than sixty artists’ books, including “A Tale from the Fire,” commissioned by the National Museum of Women in the Arts. 

Pia Pizzo is internationally known for her drawings, oil paintings, artists’ books and installations. Since 1970 Pia has explored the book as an art form. Her “non-books” focus on silence, light and spontaneity. Pizzo’s work is represented in museums, private collections, libraries and archives all around the world. Born in Italy, Pizzo lives and works in Long Beach, California.
