LIFE AT USF

Counseling & Psychological Services

Counseling & Psychological Services (CAPS) seeks to assist students in developing greater self-understanding and help resolve problems that interfere with their optimal personal functioning.

Our Resources

To request an appointment, current students can call (415) 422-6352 or go to the CAPS MyUSF website. If experiencing a mental health crisis, students can access the CAPS All Hours line at (855) 531-0761, 24/7 as well as the National Crisis Text line, a peer support resource (text HOME to 741741).

Our web resources are open to all students. Learn more about our resources, including appointments, workshops, and referrals, on MyUSF.

A Broad Range of Counseling & Psychological Services

While at USF, you'll have access to a broad range of services to support your personal development. CAPS offers in-person and remote individual, couples, and group therapy to currently enrolled students residing within California — state regulations prevent provision of therapy across state lines.

Students may choose to meet in person or by confidential video or phone call. Single Session Therapy (SST) or brief ongoing therapy sessions are available. There are no fees for services.
