April Crabtree
Vice Provost of Strategic, Enrollment Management
I'm originally from Tennessee but have been fortunate to call San Francisco home for the past nine years. I love being outside, so you'll find me on the Russian River in the summer and skiing at Lake Tahoe in the winter. San Francisco is a city where anything is possible and there's everything to do. My calendar is always full with unique activities, music, and amazing food.

Sherie Gilmore-Cleveland
Associate Vice Provost, Enrollment Management
Born and raised in Oakland, California, I am a Bay Area girl through and through. I graduated from the University of San Francisco with my BS in 2001 and MS in 2005. I love the energy of USF. The people, the campus, and the passion for others captured my heart, and I've never let go. The conversations I've had (over a great meal in in the city), have brought me to tears through laughter while also inspiring me to serve others.

I love seeing a new city, trying new types of food, and finding cozy coffee shops. My favorite parts of the city are Golden Gate Park, Pier 39, and the Palace of the Fine Arts (I tell people I'm in Greece).

I'm originally from Mexico but have called the Bay Area my home for most of my life. When I'm not traveling to and from Disneyland, you can catch me exploring all the different coffee shops and restaurants the city has to offer, one run or bike ride at a time. Lastly, I'm proud to say that I'm on my way to becoming a Double Don (graduating with two degrees from USF)!

I'm regionally based in South Florida, so I'm all about the sunshine and warm beaches! San Francisco is one of my favorite places to be, with its rich culture and diversity. I enjoy dining at some of the city's trendiest restaurants, catching views of the city from Twin Peaks, and attending music festivals in Golden Gate Park.

I'm originally from a small agricultural town in California's Central Valley and have had the pleasure to live in large cities all over the state — but none as dear to my heart as San Francisco. The city is a special place with its amazing food, diverse cultures, and beautiful views. I love to travel and I feel fortunate to come back to this eclectic city after every adventure.

I am originally from Carson, California and graduated from USF with the class of 2019. Coming from a city like Los Angeles, I really enjoy the city life and the many different cultures and backgrounds you can find within it. San Francisco, and the Bay Area as a whole, is the same exact way. I truly appreciate how USF does its best to bring the SF city experience to its students.

Even though I was born and raised in Southern California, it is hard not to fall in love with San Francisco. From the amazing ocean views near the piers to the culturally diverse cuisine, it is easy to understand why SF is such a great city. I even met my wife, who is a San Francisco native, during my time in the area. Yes, San Fransico has really been great to me.

I grew up in Mississippi and attended college here in the Bay Area. Once I arrived, I never left. My favorite thing about San Francisco is the overwhelmingly eclectic food scene. I also still love taking the ferry between San Francisco and other parts of the Bay Area—it's one of the best ways to see the Bay!

Stephanie Ortiz-Garcia
Associate Director of Undergraduate Admission
I'm originally from southeast Los Angeles, moved to San Francisco to attend USF (Class of 2016!), and became a Double Don by completing my master's degree at USF. USF is special because it offered me a place where I could learn more about social justice through the Jesuit lens and integrate it within my social, academic, and professional goals. My favorite restaurant in the city with the best burritos and tacos is El Farolito on 24th and Mission, which I recommend if you are ever in town.
