Our Master's in Global Studies Curriculum
The Global Studies program is a two-year, 34-unit program that begins each fall and consists of the following:
- Elective and skills courses
- A research methods course
- Final capstone thesis or applied project
- Internship
- Summer fieldwork and research opportunities are available
My masters thesis focused on resettlement approaches for climate refugees. I learned that climate change is not simply a scientific issue, but also a social one. The effects of global warming permeate all segments of society and we have to address that as well. My research led me to my passion of understanding the intersections of human rights and climate change. Without my time at USF, I likely wouldn’t have come to that topical interest organically.”
