Volunteer at APEC
In 2023, San Francisco hosted the 30th Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation Leaders' Summit (APEC). Some students interned at the San Francisco Mayor’s Office of Protocol organizing the event. Others volunteered with the U.S. Department of State during the event, serving a variety of functions from supporting global media to bilateral meetings.

Students met with Gerard De Graaf, head of the new European Union (EU) office in San Francisco. The office reinforces the EU’s cooperation with the United States on digital diplomacy and strengthens the EU’s connections with policymakers, businesses, and civil society in the digital technology sector.

Students visited Salesforce headquarters and met with Salesforce employees who are experts in CRM and Cloud tools (and now AI) that have advanced the work of global NGOs and nonprofits in many humanitarian causes.
