USF School of Management Valedictorian is a Hospitality Management Student Two Years in a Row
The Department of Hospitality Management is very proud of Christa Leigh Green, this year’s University of San Francisco’s (USF) School of Management Valedictorian.
Valedictorians at USF exemplify the highest standards of leadership and scholarship in the Jesuit tradition. A leader in the finest sense of the word, the Valedictorian demonstrates selfless service to the University community while reflecting excellence in all academic pursuits.
Green, a double major in Hospitality and Accounting was excited to get the news she had been selected “It is such an amazing honor to be selected as the School of Management’s Valedictorian and I am so thrilled to have the privilege to celebrate my journey and experiences at USF in such an incredible way,” Green said. “Receiving this honor is the perfect end to my time at USF, where I have made it my goal to work hard and give it my all in everything that I do academically.”
Green was an active student as a member of the Hospitality Management Association, President of the USF Intervarsity Christian Fellowship, recipient of the Dean’s Medal of Honor for the School of Management and she was part of the first cohort to participate in the USF Alumni Mentor Program.Green started her journey at the USF in 2011. Throughout her college career, she held a variety of internships in the event industry, including planning donor events and managing concession sales at Music@Menlo, assisting with sales tracking at the Four Seasons Worldwide Sales Office and planning events with Events Management and Guest Services at USF. She also served as Talent Manager for the Student Industry Exchange event (SIXe), where over 100 individuals participated.

After recently completing her internship with Caitlin Arnold Weddings and Events, Green has accepted a full-time position as the Catering Supervisor at the San Francisco Zoo.
The Department of Hospitality helped Green turn her passion of event management into a career. She is so thankful to be a part of a program that values not only education, but professional and personal development, which allowed her to succeed both in and out of the classroom.

Note: Last year’s School of Management Valedictorian was Felicia Doubek who was also a double major in Hospitality and Accounting. She is now living in Seattle working for Grant Thornton LLP.
