Prepare for the Unexpected

Nursing and performance students, participated in an immersive Disaster Management Simulation designed to prepare healthcare professionals for real-life emergencies, including an earthquake disaster.

This successful event and course were the product of two DNP students, Jin Chen and Paul Dreater.

With 14 stations, each with different cases which included injuries, distress, to a delivery, nursing and performance students practiced their knowledge and skills. Nursing participants learned:

  • Hands-on experience treating multiple injured patients
  • Practical knowledge for high-risk situations
  • Essential life-saving techniques
  • Critical skills for emergencies
  • Stop the Bleed
