Education Specialist Credential for Special Education

Earn up to two master's and two credentials in addition to your bachelor's in just six years. You'll prepare for special education careers in diverse, multicultural, and urban schools while working as a full-time intern during your final semester.

Program Highlights

  • Earn a bachelor’s degree while concurrently pursuing professional teaching courses.
  • Secure a paid teaching position with Northern California public schools during the Special Education intern portion of the program.
  • Receive extensive supervision and mentoring, on the job and in class, providing the support to meet job, program, and state requirements.
  • Can be combined with a Bilingual Authorization Certification which prepares Spanish-bilingual teachers to be strong advocates for Bilingual Education.

Special Education Tracks

Follow one of two undergraduate tracks to enter the School of Education’s Master’s and Mild/Moderate Education Specialist Credential program. Choose between earning just a Master’s and Mild/Moderate Education Specialist Credential or two credentials and two Master’s.
